Richard Sherrington is a professional trombonist and keys player in Atlanta, GA. He is a founding member of the horn section, Terminus Horns, and a producer for the Emerald Empire Band.
Richard was born in the north west of England. From a young age he attended Chethams school of music in Manchester where he won the BBC Radio Don Lusher Trombonist of The Year award at age 16.
After moving to the US to pursue a career in music, he studied jazz trombone and piano at Wichita State University. He has been touring and performing professionally since 2006, and has performed and/or recorded with numerous artists.
In 2022, Richard spearheaded Richard Sherrington’s Soulful Sunday, a free concert open to the community each month that showcases a local musician and a playlist of music from the soul genre.
